A trading house in Istanbul, working since 2013 for the industries that cannot afford to wait for a part.
Founded in Istanbul in 2013 and trading as Makine ve Elektrik Malzemeleri Pazarlama Dış Ticaret Ltd. Şti., MTE is a foreign-trade company in the oldest sense of the phrase. We find equipment, we buy it, we move it, and we stand behind it once it is installed. The book is deliberately wide — machinery, electrical equipment, valves, spare parts, consumables, instrumentation, complete packaged units — because no plant places just one kind of order.
What separates a trading house from a catalogue is everything after the price is agreed — the banking, the export compliance, the independent inspection, and the legalisation that lets a shipment clear a state customs house. It is unglamorous, it is where most orders are lost, and it is why ours are repeated.
A trading company's real history is its delivery record. These are the orders that changed what MTE was able to take on next.
MTE is established in Fatih as a foreign-trade company for machinery and electrical materials — bought abroad, sold into industry, with Istanbul as the commercial and financial base.
MTE supplies a full compressor package to the state gas producer in Kirkuk. More than a decade later the company still supports that machine, working directly with the manufacturer on spares — the order that proved a young trading company could carry a capital item end to end.
MTE is appointed to represent a Japanese control-valve maker and files formally with North Gas Company, its authorisation certified through the Iraqi Embassy in Tokyo. The first of the manufacturer mandates the business is now built on.
A full plant package of flanged safety valves and spare parts, manufactured in Korea under third-party witness inspection, shipped through Umm Qasr and handed over in December. Multi-line, multi-size, one purchase order.
The refinery package ships with certificates of inspection, witness testing and a Certificate of Origin legalised at the Iraqi embassy before departure. In the same year MTE wins a North Gas Company tender for Japanese mechanical seals and gaskets, backed by a letter of guarantee issued through its Turkish bank.
The sealing-systems contract is reordered, API gate valves ship against a local tender, and MTE opens quoting into Gulf and Saudi power markets alongside its Iraqi state work.
Most of what a plant needs is not exotic. It is a long, unglamorous list that has to arrive together, correctly certified, at a number that survives a tender committee. MTE is built for that list — and for the few items on it that almost nobody can supply.
The specialisms are where we win tenders; the broad book is what lets one purchase order cover the whole plant list.
A Turkish company is the useful place to stand. Manufacturers in Japan, Korea and Europe will contract with it and be paid through it. Iraqi state buyers can be tendered to, guaranteed and delivered from it. MTE trades from Istanbul, carrying the contract, the bank instruments and the export file. In Iraq we work alongside ITS, our affiliated company in Kirkuk, which sits with the end user's engineers.

itsiraq.comEverything listed here has been used on a live order. None of it is aspirational — it is the machinery that turns a quotation into a delivery.
Three statements. We would rather be judged on these than on adjectives.
To deliver our products and execute our services safely, at any given time and in any environment — for the benefit of our customers, our employees, our partners, our shareholders and the communities we work in.
To sense change early, decide quickly and move efficiently — responding to and exploiting change in the business environment rather than waiting it out. In this trade, the distance between a won tender and a lost one is often measured in days.
To be the partner of choice as supplier, service provider, contractor and employer, by safely and continuously delivering successful, innovative solutions and services to our customers.
Tenders, single spares and complete packages take the same route through this office.
Every enquiry is acknowledged the same working day and answered by a named person — never a ticket number. Where an original is discontinued, we say so and quote the equivalent.
